We’re well and truly caught up in the throes of winter, so we thought we’d dive straight in and chat about one of our go-to seasonal fruits: plums! Oval or round, this fleshy fruit of the rose family features around 2000 varieties from deep purple and red to yellow. Not only do plums create the perfect lip shade but they’re also filled with more health and beauty benefits than we know. Packed with plenty of skin and body-loving nutrients, plums contain around 3-6 times the anthocyanin antioxidant content of blueberries which assist in fighting free radicals and minimising fine lines and wrinkles. They’re also a rich source of dietary fibre, which helps flush out toxins to create clearer looking skin and an improved digestive system. TIP: Try to opt for the organic variety where possible to soak up all of the goodness that plums have to offer.
