The best natural Christmas beauty gift is one she'll finish. Ours are made from food — avocado and sesame oils, cacao butter, green tea and vitamin E doing the work that synthetics do in conventional makeup. I predict that the three most-given will be the Lip Nourish™ Bon Bon, a full-size natural lipstick in a Christmas cracker; the Luminous Eye Duo, two eyeshadow crayons pairing a definer with a highlighter; and Feast for Your Eyes, an eye crayon with Lash Nourish Mascara™. All three arrive in a gift box with ribbon and a blank tag, so there's nothing to wrap.

This guide is for anyone buying beauty for someone else and worried about getting it wrong. It's sorted three ways: by price, by who you're buying for, and by how to pick a shade for a face that isn't in front of you.
One thing we've learned in fourteen years of creating beauty products in Australia and sending it around the world: a Christmas or Holiday gift has to suit the day it's actually worn. Some of our customers are sitting down to a long lunch in the summer heat; others are coming in from the snow. Either way, the gift that gets used is the one that feels like nothing on — so everything below is sheer, breathable and buildable, and comfortable to wear from morning until late.
Every product is made from nutrient-active foods and botanicals, vegan and PETA Certified Cruelty Free, and formulated without fragrance, FD&C dyes, silicones or petroleum-derived ingredients.
Christmas beauty gifts by price
From stocking fillers to the gift that does the whole job. Prices show in your local currency on each product page.
Stocking fillers: the Lip Nourish™ Bon Bon
What's inside? One full-size Lip Nourish™ natural lipstick in a Christmas cracker. Not a mini, not a sample — the same lipstick we've been making since 2012, in a sheer dewy satin finish that tastes of real food. Pull the cracker and find something far lovelier than a paper hat.
Three shades, all easy to wear on anyone:
- Rose Lime — a warm pecan nude
- Guava Blush — a soft buttery pink
- Rosé — a pretty wine pink, the most festive of the three
Lip Nourish™ Bon Bon
A full-size natural lipstick in a Christmas cracker, in Rose Lime, Guava Blush or Rosé.
Shop the Bon BonWho's it for? Stocking stuffers, Kris Kringle, Secret Santa, teacher gifts, bomboniere, and the Christmas table. Set one at each place instead of a bon bon. They're the gift to buy in multiples, and the safest bet on this page, because sheer colour suits everyone.
Christmas gift sets

- Golden Olive Olive, a dark khaki green that flatters green, hazel and brown eyes, with Champagne, a warm honey gold
- Smoke & Pearl A soft charcoal with a vanilla-gold highlighter
- Cocoa & Mushroom A burnished bronze with a warm rosy taupe; the easiest everyday pairing
- Truffle & Sorbet A deep soft brown with a light wash for the lid

The one to wow: Feast for Your Eyes

- Champagne & Espresso A warm honey gold with a rich black-brown mascara, softer than black and especially flattering on fair and mature eyes

Christmas beauty gifts for her
Sorted by the person you're buying for, with a straight answer under each.
Christmas gifts for mum
Feast for Your Eyes in Champagne & Espresso. The black-brown mascara is softer than black and more flattering as eyes change with age. It's synthetic-free, suits sensitive eyes, and removes with warm water - no remover, no rubbing. If she's ever said mascara makes her eyes water or sting, this is the one.
Gifts for a teenage girl
A Lip Nourish™ Bon Bon in Guava Blush. Sheer, buildable and impossible to get wrong. It's lip care with a wash of colour, so a first lipstick isn't a drying one. Two or three Bon Bons make a generous gift without a big spend.
Teacher gifts and Kris Kringle
A Lip Nourish™ Bon Bon. It's a real gift at a Kris Kringle price, it isn't another mug or candle, and it comes in a Christmas cracker, so there's nothing to wrap. Buy several, the same Bon Bon works as bomboniere or a Christmas table setting.
Christmas gifts for your sister or best friend
The Recipe of a Lipstick set, or a Luminous Eye Duo in Cocoa & Mushroom. Both are everyday gifts rather than special-occasion ones, which is what people actually finish. The Recipe box is styled as a little book and tied with ribbon, with our recipe for making lipstick from food inside.
Gifts for someone who doesn't wear much makeup
A Bon Bon in Rose Lime, or the Cocoa & Mushroom Eye Duo. The crayons go on with a finger - no brushes, no blending, no palette to learn. One shade, one line, done. This is who we make makeup for.
Gifts for the woman who has everything
Feast for Your Eyes with the keepsake cosmetic purse. It's a gift that gets used up and re-bought rather than shelved, and the purse is the part that gets kept. It forest green with a gold metallic trimmings. Watch out for our Buy 2 full sized items and get for free. Starts 9th October. Sign up now for the link.
And one for yourself
Most people buying a Bon Bon buy two. We're not going to pretend otherwise. It is such good value - you save 20%
How to choose a shade for someone else
This is the part that stops people buying makeup as a gift, so here's the honest answer.
Buy sheer, not opaque. A sheer lipstick adjusts to the wearer's own lip colour, so the same shade looks different and right on different people. A full-coverage shade has to be matched. All three Bon Bon shades are sheer for exactly this reason.
If you know nothing about them, buy Rose Lime. A warm pecan nude is the closest thing to a universal shade we make. Guava Blush is the next safest. Save Rosé for someone you've seen wear colour.
For eyes, match the shade to their eye colour, not their skin. Olive flatters green, hazel and brown eyes. Cocoa and Mushroom suit everyone. Smoke is for someone who already wears liner. Pearl and Champagne are highlighters, they go on anyone, because they're catching light rather than adding colour.
When in doubt, give a highlighter. Pearl or Champagne can't clash with anything. They work on the lid, the inner corner, the brow bone, the cheekbone and the cupid's bow.
If they wear no makeup at all, give lip care. A Bon Bon is a nourishing balm that happens to have colour in it. It gets used even by people who'd never buy a lipstick.
And if you get it wrong, get in touch and we'll do what we can to help. Nobody should be stuck with a shade they won't wear.
Gifting made easy
Nothing needs wrapping. Every gift set arrives in a curated gift box with ribbon and a gift card. Write the name on the tag and it's done. No paper, no sticky tape, no waste.
Something to keep it in. Our keepsake cosmetic purse is forest green vegan leather with a matte finish and a gold metal zip, big enough for six lip or eye crayons, or a Lip Nourish™ and a Lash Nourish Mascara™ side by side. The keepsake gift bag is beige with a ribbon tie, and reusable afterwards for travel, jewellery, or keeping crayons together in a handbag. When they're offered as gifts with purchase, you'll find the details on the Christmas collection page.
We'll send it for you. Tick "is this a gift" in the cart, write your message, and we'll hand-write it on a card and post the gift straight to the recipient with your note inside. One order per recipient, and put their address in the shipping fields at checkout. Details on our concierge service page.
Order in time. Christmas shipping cut-off dates for Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada are on our shipping page, updated each November. As a rule, order early in December for standard delivery, and earlier still if the gift is travelling overseas.
It comes once a year. The Christmas collection is limited edition and we make it once. When a shade sells out, it's gone until next year.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good natural beauty stocking filler?
A Lip Nourish™ Bon Bon. It's a full-size natural lipstick presented in a Christmas cracker, made from food-grade oils and botanicals, in three sheer shades that suit most people. It arrives gift-ready, so it needs no wrapping, and works as a stocking filler, Kris Kringle gift or Christmas table setting.
What should I buy someone who doesn't wear much makeup?
Choose sheer colour and simple application. A Lip Nourish™ Bon Bon in Rose Lime is a nourishing balm with a wash of colour. The Luminous Eye Duo in Cocoa & Mushroom applies with a finger, no brushes or blending required.
How do I pick a lipstick shade for someone else?
Buy a sheer formula rather than a full-coverage one. Sheer lipstick adjusts to the wearer's natural lip colour, so it suits a wide range of people. Rose Lime, a warm pecan nude, is the most universally flattering shade we make.
Are Lük Beautifood gifts suitable for sensitive skin and eyes?
Yes. Every product is made without fragrance, FD&C dyes, silicones or petroleum-derived ingredients, and is vegan and PETA Certified Cruelty Free. Lash Nourish Mascara™ is synthetic-free and formulated for sensitive eyes, and removes with warm water alone.
Do your Christmas gifts need wrapping?
No. Every gift set comes in a gift box with ribbon and a blank gift tag, ready to give.
Can you send a gift directly to the recipient?
Yes. Tick "is this a gift" in the cart and add your message, and we'll hand-write it on a card and send the gift on your behalf. Enter the recipient's address in the shipping fields at checkout, with a separate order for each recipient.
What is the last day to order for Christmas delivery?
Cut-off dates for Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada are published on our shipping page each November. As a general rule, order early in December for standard delivery, and earlier for international orders.
What makes Lük Beautifood different from other natural makeup?
Our makeup is made from food. Nutrient-active food oils and botanicals like avocado, cacao butter, organic citrus oils, green tea and vitamin E do the work that synthetics do in conventional cosmetics. The founder (me!) Cindy Lüken, came to beauty from food.
