Vanilla beans with their soft floral aroma, are picked from the vines of vanilla orchids. Contained in the dark brown vanilla bean pod are tiny little black seeds which can be scraped out and mixed into recipes to enhance both flavour and nutrients!

Vanilla beans can be used whole or the seeds can be collected from the inside. When using the seeds, start by splitting the side of the bean using a knife. Then scrape the inside, collecting tiny little seeds which can then be mixed into your recipe.
