We hold our makeup to the same standard you hold your food. You don’t eat ingredients that may cause cancer or upset hormones, yet many standard cosmetics can contain known carcinogens and endocrine disruptors. This happens because the global beauty industry is not as strictly regulated as food, so companies can get away with using cheap, potentially health-damaging chemicals. Luk Beautifood is having none of this - we maintain a strict standard with certification for Peta Cruelty Free, Toxin Free, Australian Made (Lip Nourish™ ) and strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ISO 22716:2007 Cosmetics. On our website Ingredient Glossary we publish a Clean List of ingredients that are included in our products and a Dirty List that is well and truly out. If it’s not safe and natural, you won’t find it in our formulations, sourcing and manufacturing standards.

When we learn about more environmentally friendly practices, we make moves to put them in place. It’s a process we’re dedicated to and it takes time. These are just some of the initiatives we have in place: Our Lip Nourish™ tubes have a smaller plastic footprint than many other brands as the core tube is made primarily from aluminium. Trees used to make our Lip Nourish™ primary box come from FSC-certified sustainable forests and we switched a long time ago to water-based varnishes and glues on our boxes. Our best selling Eco Luxe Special is packaged in a gorgeous reusable pouch made from canvas and lined with recycled satin fabric. The electricity at our office and warehouse is GreenPower™ accredited. We use paper fillers in our shipping cartons and re-purpose or recycle materials received. We designed a slimline shipping envelopes to reduce the amount of cardboard we use and make it from recycled, unbleached board with a single colour soy ink print.
